A Day Late and a Dollar Short

Do you ever get thrown off when you have a Monday off work or your kids have it off school? I've gone through weeks like that where I couldn't keep the days or the dates straight all week. It started early this time. I'm usually okay until after the Monday passes, and then I keep thinking Tuesday is Monday, Wednesday is Tuesday, and so on. This time, it started on Saturday.

Saturday felt like Sunday. All day, I was looking forward to the Bear's game coming on. It was a night game this week, and by the time dinner was done and cleaned up, I was all geared up for the 8:15 (7:15 Central) kick off. When I grabbed the remote and started looking for the pre-game show, my husband laughed. He let me go all day thinking it was coming on! He's such a prankster. I guess that's what I get for having the kids talk him into cooking his famous spaghetti instead of making dinner myself.

Well, Sunday I knew I had the right day, and sure enough my game came on and the Bears won, 38-20 against the New York Giants, after a rough start.

Day lateIt was Monday that gave me trouble. Since when are banks open on a holiday? I figured my bank would be closed and I didn't go make a deposit. I also couldn't pay a bill, because I hadn't deposited my husband's check. Thank goodness, the company was closed Monday and allowed an extra day for payment because of it. I would have been more than a dollar short if I'd had to pay a late fee.

So, here I sit writing this, thinking "Today is Tuesday, right?" Who knows what tomorrow will be like? I may just write myself a note that it's Wednesday (and hope I don't lose the note). Still, I bet I won't know what the date is all day (okay, I admit it; I just checked to make sure of today's date).

Note to self: Tomorrow is Wednesday. Wednesday! November 15. 15!
