Mickey Mouse is back.  Whether this is the reinvention that Disney execs promised years ago remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Disney’s most famous character is going to be a star yet again.  Mickey’s returning to his roots, in a series of animated shorts to debut on the Disney Channel and Disney Online this June.  Entertainment Weekly has the details. Disney Television Animation has been hard at work creating 19 new shorts starring the famous mouse, his girlfriend Minnie, and surely many of his other most popular cohorts, all to reintroduce Mickey to fans young and old.  … Continue reading

Did you miss out on the HDV deals on Black Friday? Don’t worry, you are probably better off. The real deals are coming in January. That is when you can pick up a brand name HDTV for a rock bottom price. During the Black Friday Blitz, there were some low priced HDTV deals. That is for sure. Sure the deals are great, but you have to shop early, and … Continue reading

Do You Allow Your Kids to Watch TV News?

After reporting and anchoring local TV news for more than decade, I never considered tuning out the events of the day after giving birth. I’ve watched the evening news religiously since I was in high school and never dreamed there would come a day when I would be forced to wean myself from my 6 o’clock fix. However, that day has come. A few weeks ago, I was in the kitchen making dinner with the TV news on in the background when my 7-year-old came waltzing in. Typically, she’ll sit on a stool at the counter and try to snag … Continue reading

MTV’s “Teen Mom 2” Star Arrested

I don’t know if you have seen the very disturbing video of a teen, Jenelle Evans that apparently stars in the MTV show “Teen Mom 2,” absolutely pummeling another teen. A group of people stand around egging it on until eventually they see that the teen being hit has had enough. Well the video went viral and it didn’t take long for the authorities to act on it. In all, three girls were charged. I don’t know what is worse to me…the fact that this teen is part of a show that chronicles four teens who are mothers, or that … Continue reading

What Does Your DVD or TV Viewing Reflect about Your Marriage?

What does your DVD or TV viewing reflect about your marriage? Does it all tend to be one sided, watching what one person wants or is it a balance? In one home I know they have two TVS She watches what she wants in one room whole he watched what he wants in another. In another he watches TV one room. She reads a book in the bedroom. That’s something that rarely if ever happens in our house, mainly because we enjoy being together Recently I watched Brothers and Sisters while Mick read a book, as he’s less enamored of … Continue reading

Carson’s Having a Baby and MTV’s Having a Ball

Technically, it’s Carson Daly’s girlfriend who’s having the couple’s first child, but the TV talk show host is thrilled still the same. Reps for the 35-year-old host of “Last Call With Carson Daly” just announced that Siri Pinter is in fact pregnant with Daly’s baby. Pinter is a staff member on Daly’s late-night show. The two reportedly started dating about a year ago. Interestingly, the couple have never been photographed in public together and not much is know about Daly’s baby mama save for the fact that she is in her mid-20s, attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has family in … Continue reading

A Ton of People Watching TV

TV executives are on top of the world right now, thrilled that you spent at least part of the last few weeks tuning into major sporting and political events. According to new numbers just released by Nielsen Media Research, 4.7 billion viewers worldwide tuned into at least some of the 17 days of Olympic TV coverage last month. The audience was one-fifth larger than the 3.9 billion who watched the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, according to the folks at … Continue reading

ABC Reality TV Stars Hook Up… Maybe

Now here’s a romance that should make execs at ABC very, very happy. According to Us Weekly, “Dancing with the Stars” pro mover and shaker Karina Smirnoff (a.k.a. Mario Lopez’s ex-girlfriend) and “The Bachelor” Andy Baldwin (a.k.a. Marla Maples’ ex-boyfriend and Tessa Horst’s ex-fiance) having been getting their groove on… together… in public. Word of the romance leaked yesterday, but today Smirnoff issued a statement saying that the rumored hook up is just that—“rumors, rumors, rumors.” The 30-year-old smoking hot dancing queen told Us, “I’m sure Andy is a cool guy; however, there is absolutely no truth to any of … Continue reading

Diary of a Cat Care B&B: I’m Not a Scratching Post (But I Play One on TV)

Maybe the heat is making our guests at the cats-only boarding facility a little cranky. Whatever the reason, I’ve been playing the role of scratching post at work lately! I won’t post pictures of my injuries, but just to tally them up: I have an inch-long bite mark on my left wrist, a three inch claw mark on my left forearm, two half-inch claw marks on the inside of my right forearm, three scratches on my chest, a two inch claw mark on the front of my left shoulder and a few more scrapes on the back of my left … Continue reading
