Top Floor Storage The top of a wardrobe is the perfect spot for those items that you want to keep but don't use very often. Painted boxes or decorated baskets can be placed out of the way and still match the closet's décor. If your wardrobe has a high enough top railing, you can fill flat suitcases with many things and store them there. You might also want to label the contents in case you forget what you put in there. Sweater Storage Sweaters should be stored flat either on shelves or in drawers. If you decide to stack them instead, make sure you place the lighter sweaters on top of the pile, as they will look better when you wear them. Don't stack them too high or they will lose their shape. Accessories Peg scarves on clothes hangers and hang them up rather than stuffing them into drawers. If they have a matching outfit, hang them all together or as Benjamin Franklin said, "they will all hang separately." You can also save the cardboard centers from paper towels and such and wrap your scarves around them. No fold marks will ever show again! Add a few hooks on the back of the closet door for belts. Drawer Storage Several small open boxes placed in a drawer can serve as compartments and help to keep things tidy. Store empty toilet paper rolls upright in your hosiery drawer with each containing different colored hose and tights. This makes them easy to find. To stop them from falling over, secure them in groups of 4 with a heavy rubber band. Do YOU have any closet storage tips to add? Please share.
