Toilet Ring Tricks and Tipsby Marjorie Dorfman | More from this Blogger 18 Dec 2006 08:54 AM
Toilet Ring Tricks Make a paste of lemon juice and borax. Allow to set before scrubbing. This should remove most stubborn toilet rings. Another solution is to pour a cup or two of white vinegar into the toilet bowl. Let it sit overnight; then brush well and flush and presto! Ordinary baking soda also works wonders with toilet odors and makes a good all purpose cleaner. Another unexpected cleaner is the denture tablet. (Yes, you heard me right.) Drop two or three tablets in the bowl water and let it stand for two or three hours. Then brush, flush and be happy. Toilet Rust Stains A paste made by mixing cream of tartar and hydrogen peroxide will remove most rust stains. If they are really bad and deeply set, you may need to apply some fine sandpaper or a pumice stone to remove them. Toilet Tank Tip Those hard water deposits will be afraid to form in your tank if you throw in a denture tablet every 6 weeks or so. (Don't tell your teeth. They have enough problems and don't need to know.) Leave in overnight, brush and flush way. Toilet Warning Avoid using bleach when cleaning a toilet. If by mistake you forget and then use a cleaner with ammonia in it the mixture can be toxic and even lethal. (You want to always view all of your daisies from the sunny side of the sod.) Follow these tips to a happy, healthy and shiny toilet. Do YOU have any other toilet cleaning tips? Please share.
