Do you know how to treat an underarm stain or stop the pain of a paper cut? Here are some clever household tips for you to try out at home.

Underarm stains

Underarm stains can be so frustrating. You've tried all sorts of cleaners, including bleach and Oxyclean, right? Here is a little trick that seem to get the job done for t-shirts and other cotton shirts. Dissolve nine aspirin into a cup of warm water. Saturate the stain with the solution and allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes. Then launder your shirt as usual.

Pencil stains

Did you accidentally get a pencil mark on your clothing? Treat it as if it were on paper, with a clean soft eraser. Make sure it is a clean eraser to prevent depositing a new stain on your clothing. Also treat the pencil mark before you launder it.

Ink stains

There are two ways that I have found to treat ink stains successfully. You can either soak the stain in milk for several hours before laundering, or use rubbing alcohol directly on the ink stain.

Paper cut pain

To ease the pain of a paper cut, first clean the cut and disinfect it to prevent an infection. Next, use a piece of clear tape, such as Scotch tape to secure the cut closed. If the cut stays closed it doesn't seem to hurt. I have also heard of people using super glue (Crazy Glue) to secure a paper cut, although I haven't tried this myself and I wouldn't apply it to a deep cut.

Cracked eggs

To prevent cracking when boiling eggs, especially for Easter, put a tablespoon of white vinegar into the water. This someone seals tiny cracks as they occur, so they don't progress to visible cracks in your eggs. In my home, the Easter eggs usually get cracked while they are being decorated by enthusiastic kids. I don't have a solution for that one!
