Cool, Custom Christmas Gift Wrapping Tips

Sometimes, presentation can make as much of an impact as the gift itself does. These custom tips will help even small gifts look like something special.

It's time to shop for the school (or maybe church, club, or scouts) grab bag. Your child will likely be asked to pick a gift for someone else of his or her gender, with a price tag of approximately $5.00. Let's face it, five bucks doesn't buy much any more, but you still want the recipient to be pleased.

Even if you pick out the coolest miniature cars and trucks, wrapping them individually doesn't make them look like much. But, if you put them into a paper towel roll, add some filler, and decorate, you'll have a unique looking tubular gift that stands out from the rest. For items that are somewhat larger, use cardboard tubes from wrapping paper rolls. You can decorate or wrap the tubes in fun ways.

There are lots of different items you can place inside of cardboard rolls. Try lip-gloss and hair accessories for a girl's grab bag gift. You can also give a fun collection of art supplies like gel pens and colored pencils. Simply remove pens or pencils from packaging if any and tie a ribbon around a bunch so they'll fit into the tube.

Another idea is to fill a tube with Christmas candy, roll it in wrapping paper or foil, and gather the ends. It will look like a large piece of candy with candy inside.

With these ideas, you will not only get the benefit of re-using existing materials (cardboard tubes) for gift boxes but at the same time you'll be able to add a custom, unique touch to the look of even the smallest gifts.

*If you don't use paper towels, ask someone who does to save the rolls for you. If you have wrapping paper tubes or someone who will save some for you, these can be cut down and used to package gifts as well, or used as is for larger packages.
