Here is a really cute idea from Home Made Simple. It's called the Picture Perfect Shower Curtain and it shows you how to display favorite photos by making a customized shower curtain. This idea could also be used as a window treatment, by replacing the clear shower curtain with fabric.

A couple of other ways to inject more personality into your home are to add interesting accents like monogrammed pillows and other accessories like large decorative letters, such as the first initial of your last name.
