Who says you can't have your cake (or cookies, candy, etc.) and eat it too?

Edible Christmas Wreaths

Here are some cute, easy, and tasty ideas for making a Christmas wreaths and decorations. These can also act as centerpieces and your kids will love helping you put these together (and helping you "clean up" the wreaths). All you need are some treats, some icing, a pretty plate, charger, or a platter, candles, candy, and some ribbon. You can use homemade goodies or store bought selections.

Set a large plate, platter, or charger in the center of the table. Place a large pillar candle in the center. Surround the candle with cookies, using icing to "glue" them in place. Use all the same cookies or mix and match. You can create a similar idea by using cupcakes or better yet, miniature cupcakes to make your wreath.

A good method is to roll out sugar cookie dough, baking it all in one piece, and then break off smaller pieces to use as parts of the wreath. Frost with green icing if desired. Add candies to trim your wreath. They can be unwrapped or wrapped in shiny paper. Add a bow and you're done.

You can also cut out one big cookie in the shape of a wreath. Cut out the center. Add M&M's or other candies as decorations. Bake and place on a pretty plate. Add candy canes and a bow.

Try using a smaller plate, and placing some small candles in the center. Surround the candles with spearmint leaf gummy candies. Add red gumdrops or sour cherry balls every so often. Finish with a pretty ribbon.

You can also make a breakfast wreath for Christmas morning. Place a bowl of fruit salad in the center of a plate and surround it with miniature muffins. Add bows or other decorations if desired. Pretty for a Christmas brunch buffet.
