Got Cork?

Do you want to make an area in your home, such as a music room, a playroom, or the workshop, more soundproof? Would you like to bring in some additional texture to enhance the existing decor? Maybe you just want a place to display important reminders. Adding cork to a room is the perfect way to accomplish all these things and more.

You can use cork to provide a customized area in your child's room where he or she can exhibit artwork, special notes, photos, and greeting cards. Hang cork on walls or doors to create the perfect display area for things that are important to your children. You can simply install the tile as is, or decorate the area in any way that you desire. Adding a border made from trim molding or one made from wood covered in fabric are attractive options.

Cork also works great in the kitchen. Hang up those coupons so you don't forget to use them before they expire. Pin up doctor's appointment cards and shopping lists. Make a message center where family members can leave each notes for each other. Create an area to display good grades or award certificates from school. You can use yardsticks and rulers to make a frame around the cork.

Another great place to use cork is in the home office. Tack up receipts or invoices. Display lists of projects or deadlines. Display business cards from important contacts. Hang up important items so they are easily within reach while keeping your desk clear.

You can purchase cork in rolls, tiles, squares, or select pre-mounted or framed pieces that are ready to hang. Cork comes in different colors too. Visit Flex-a-Chart to check out the variety and different accessories.

I recently found bulletin boards, large sheets, and 12" squares of cork at Wal-Mart. They come complete with hanging hardware and they are reasonably priced.
