Home Color Trends: Spring/Summer 2008by Sherry Holetzky | More from this Blogger 13 Mar 2008 07:26 AM Color trends for the home generally mimic what is being featured on fashion runways. The colors for spring/summer 2008, as reported thus far, should include a fun mix of washed colors, pastels, bright colors, and neutrals. Colors like with names like "cantaloupe" are a great example. We'll still be seeing reds and assorted blues. A variety of yellows continue to be a staple of spring and summer. Green is of course a color that must be represented, as so many things outdoors begin to take on various hues of this lively color. Green is also apparently popular, as a reminder to "go green" as much as possible. *Look for eco-friendly products before starting your home improvement projects, as there are several varieties for various needs, including more friendly formulas of paint. Gray seems to be one of the more popular neutrals, along with tan. Tan with blue, or gray with blue, will be making appearances. White or various shades of it, always work in spring and summer, giving a fresh, crisp, clean feel to everything and creating a great backdrop for the more vibrant colors. White pairs well with pastels too, creating a soft look. It looks like we will be seeing a cheery palette of colors this spring and summer. Will you be following the latest trends? Even if you don't intend to redecorate your entire home to keep up with every trend that comes along (and most people don't), you can add some fresh new color to one or more spaces in your home easily and affordably, by adding just a few touches. A new accent rug, a few accessories, plants or flowers, hand towels, place mats and many more items... each one is an opportunity to inject fresh color without remaking an entire room.
