In the current economy, even those people who have worked hard all of their lives to save money towards retirement are finding that they do not … Continue reading

Etiquette Basics for Home Party Sales Representatives

Home party sales are a popular home-based business opportunity. It seems as though a month does not go by where I do not receive an invitation to one of them, I do not know all that many people and I live in a fairly rural area. I can only imagine how many parties are going on in more heavily populated areas and how many invitations other, more well connected individuals receive. If you are planning to pursue a direct sales opportunity where you will be selling products at home parties, you will certainly be eager to get out there and … Continue reading

How Much Does Your Pet Influence Your Lifestyle?

A week or two ago, I saw a story on Today about people who take their pets to work. I didn’t catch the full story, however. I think it was really more about how much pets influence some people’s lives. All aspects of it. Work One of the men profiled in the Today piece explained how he had moved his workplace for his dog. Apparently he runs his own business and leases office space. When a landlord prohibited pets from being in the building, the man went and found more accommodating office space elsewhere. But other people who didn’t own … Continue reading

Home Life: Etiquette

Are manners important? Of course they are. However, we tend to be a bit more relaxed at home. We don’t always say please or thank you to our spouses, children, or other family members, even though we do so for complete strangers. It’s a bad habit to get into but we can correct fairly easily. We can also teach our kids by example. No one is suggesting that a parent beg a child to do what he or she is supposed to do, but there is nothing wrong with saying, “Please take out the trash.” There is nothing wrong with … Continue reading

Turn A Love Of Chocolate Into Profit

There are so many great home – based business ideas out there that one or more of them is bound to fit your taste. Speaking of taste, did you know that there are a couple of ways that you can build a home – based business around chocolate? I would probably eat a good chunk of my inventory and gain a bunch of weight. That said, chocolate sells. Even in a down economy, people … Continue reading

Spring Break Camping Trip

Heck, with the record-breaking, summer-like temperatures sweeping the nation, why wait until July to rough it in the great outdoors? Our neighbor’s kids pitched a tent and slept outside Saturday night when the mercury was still in the 60s well after 10 p.m. Mind you, we live in Wisconsin where it snows in June and we’re lucky to see 70s in July. Naturally, my daughter wanted to join in on the fun, but I put the kibosh on that getaway. However, I did allow her to roast marshmallows with her pals and partake in some of the activities featured in … Continue reading
