money Improving your home makes a lot of sense. Your home is not only the place you live, but chances are, it is also your biggest investment. While you might think that economically this isn't the best time to make home improvements, the fact is that you can increase the value of your home by spending just a few dollars. In fact, the following ideas will all cost you less than $100, while increasing your home's value for much more than that. At that price, how could you not improve your home? Still not convinced? Consider that all of these ideas are very quick and easy to accomplish.

Let's take a look at the kitchen first. Kitchens can dramatically affect the value of a home, and a kitchen can make or break a home sale. Here are some improvements to make in the kitchen: Give the cabinets a good scrubbing. Over the years, there can be a large amount of grime that builds up on cabinets. Giving the cabinets a good scrubbing can make a huge difference. The best way to do this is to remove the cabinet doors from the hinges, so you won't miss any spots. Plain old soap and water work well. Replace or add new kitchen cabinet knobs. Not only can old ones look dated and make your kitchen look dates, but they can get dingy, too. You can find new knobs priced between $.50 and $3. Outfitting a whole kitchen should cost you less than $50, while making everything look updated.

Do you have mismatched appliances? Many times you can coordinate them all without buying new appliances. Many modern kitchen appliances, such as a dishwasher, have panels that can be turned for a different look. For example, if you look at your white dishwasher, you may see that the other side of the panel is black and can be reversed. You can also buy panels with different finishes. Finally, consider adhesive finishes that can be attached to everything from dishwashers to refrigerators. A well-coordinated kitchen will show more value than a mismatched one.

What do you think of this topic? Would you like to see more under $100 home improvements for other parts of your home?
