Welcome and thank you for visiting the Families.com Home and Garden Blog. This blog features two hosts. I'll let the other host introduce herself, but I will tell you that I am excited to be working with such an incredibly knowledgeable, talented woman.

We both have different backgrounds, experiences, and interests. We feel that the combination will create a rich blend of ideas, insight, and information that you can use. We also hope that you'll interact with us and that we will have some fun together.

My name is Sherry. I am happily married and the mother of four beautiful girls ranging in age from 5-15. My husband, children, and I live in the Ozarks, where I spend much of my "free" time writing, making improvements to our home and yard, and decorating. I also enjoy watching design shows when I have the time. I plan to review some of the better ones here.

My motto is that anyone can create a warm, inviting space without spending a lot of money. My best advice for great home decor is to choose things that you love and find a way to make them work. It is not necessary to dictate decor by strict design rules. While certain rules are essential, most leave plenty of room for creativity. Making your home into a place where your family is happy and comfortable is good design.

We plan to present select information, most of which falls into five main categories:
