More Time-Saving Cleanup Tipsby Marjorie Dorfman | More from this Blogger 22 Nov 2006 10:42 AM
1. Prevention is better than the cure. We are not talking here about smoking or other health hazard and disease related measures. The easiest way to save time cleaning up a mess is to try to prevent the mess from having the opportunity to happen. An example of this would be placing a really good absorbent floor mat inside the front door which will in the end, save a lot of floor cleanup time. 2. Remove your rings before doing dishes. While they are off your finger, why not clean them too? (Not your fingers, the rings.) Pop them in some jewelry cleaner for the same amount of time that you are washing dishes. To those out there who suspect this might be multi-tasking disguised, rest assured that it is indeed. 3. Save more time while using the dishwasher. When loading the cutlery basket, give each of the basket's compartment's its own item. For example, put spoons in one, forks in another and children who won't obey in still another. This will save you time when you are ready to transfer the cleaned cutlery and hopefully dutiful children to the departments in your cutlery drawer. 4. Use your cooking time to cleanup. While things are cooking on and in your stove, clean out your fridge. You have to open it anyway to get ingredients, so why not do two things at once? Follow these tips along the path of "time-saving happiness." When you get there, give me a call, that is, if I can keep up with you. Still more to come! Have YOU got any to share?
