Mother's Day Cleaning Tips?

Mother's Day cleaning tips...allow me to clarify. In no way am I suggesting that moms should be cleaning on this day of days. This blog is meant for husbands, children, or basically anyone looking to make mom happy by taking over the household chores (if only for a day). If you took the suggestion made in the "Kids Crafts Blog" about making mom a coupon redeemable for a day's worth (ok, an hour's worth) of cleaning, then consider these tips a gift from me to you:

· Don't forget the corners. Cobwebs love corners. Go around the house with a broom and pretend the cobwebs are piñatas, aim and whack away.

· Before you start sweeping, spray your broom or dust mop with Pledge (or any furniture polish). The dust and dirt will be easier to collect when you sweep.

· Mom's smile will sparkle even more when she sees that you have removed the hair spray from all the bathroom mirrors. To do so, add rubbing alcohol to a soft cloth and gently rub the hair spray marks... they will vanish within the first few strokes.

· Go the extra mile. Spray Lysol on doorknobs, light switches, and telephones. They are germ breeders and can potentially infect everyone who touches them.

· If you have hardwood floors put a piece of waxed paper under your dust mop... you will kill two birds with one stone. Dirt will adhere to the mop and the wax will shine your floors.

· Got Blinds? Got socks? If you answered "yes," then use this simple cleaning tip: Slip your hands into a pair of socks. Dip one hand into a bucket filled with warm, soapy water. Use the other to hold the blinds steady. Glide the wet sock covered hand over the blinds until you've cleaned the entire surface. Then use the dry sock covered hand to dry.

Your hard work will bring mom such joy.

Happy Mother's Day!

Nicole, I think that's why so many moms get flowers on Mother's Day-doesn't involve sweating. Thanks for the comment!
