Here is another one for the obscure holiday list. Actually, National Doughnut Day is a real holiday, and one that you can have fun with at home. You can even score some free donuts, too. Here is the real story behind the holiday, some ideas on how to celebrate it, and a list of places offering free donuts. Happy National Donut Day!

I wish I had found out about Donut Day earlier because Krispy Kreme was giving out free donuts today. I even was right near a Krispy Kreme and didn’t think to go in. Which is probably good–I was carrying a very large smoothie from Dunkin Donuts as I was walking past the Krispy Kreme. Kevin Smith vs. Southwest Airlines

In case you haven’t heard director/writer Kevin Smith was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight. Kevin had always purchased two tickets when flying because he says it is the “food-stamp airline” so he indulges himself. Last week, Kevin had purchased his usual two tickets, but decided to fly standby on an earlier flight in which there was only one seat left.
