Review: Dollar Tree

I don't have a lot of choices when it comes to nearby shopping. That's one of the trade-offs of living in the country. Still, if I go fifty miles in any direction, there are more choices. I don't normally drive that far just for the heck of it, but if I'm headed out anyway, I make sure to bring my shopping list!

On one such trip a while back, I ventured into a Dollar Tree store. Wow! I loved it. It's much better than most of the other dollar stores I've been to, and I got some really good deals. They offer many nice bath products, kitchen gadgets, home décor elements such as candles, and a large selection of other items. You can even buy helium filled Mylar balloons for all occasions for just one dollar.

As with any discount store, you have to examine things to ensure that you're getting a good deal, since certain items may actually sell for less than a dollar elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the items I wanted were a good value, and that many items were higher quality than one might typically expect from a dollar store.

One of the really cool things about Dollar Tree is that they also have a good selection of cleaning products, including brand name options. This is great because you can try out new cleaners for just a dollar to see if you like them.

This trip, I decided to try Formula 409 Anti-bacterial, and I really like it. It works well and also has a nice scent. Cleaning cloths and treated cleaning wipes are also handy, and I don't mind spending a buck for them as opposed to the frequently much higher prices elsewhere.

I also found lots of storage containers from handy little baskets and crates to food storage containers. I bought a pack of six - 4 ounce bowls with lids that are great for use in my kids' lunches.

Do you have Dollar Tree stores in your area? If you do and you've never shopped there, I recommend checking it out.

*Items may vary at different locations.
