Review: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Call me skeptical, but I didn't believe the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would live up to its promises. Don't get me wrong, I like Mr. Clean products, but I'm not usually big on "magical" promises. That is, until I tried it!

Magic Eraser is a parent's dream come true. It will remove almost anything your children can dish out, including crayon and marker. The true test for me was not just removing crayon but to completely remove it from a textured surface.

My refrigerator is white textured vinyl, and it has always been difficult to clean those tiny crevices, just to remove the everyday grime caused by repeated touching. Then, when my little one colored on the fridge, I thought it would never come off completely. I tried all my favorite products, but there were still tell tale signs of the artwork.

Not any more! The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser literally erased all traces of crayon, and it works great on other surfaces too. It even wipes away grease under the exhaust fan hood. All you have to do is dampen it and begin cleaning. Textured surfaces and certain substances take a little extra scrubbing, but you will be amazed.

The only thing I don't like about the Eraser is that it begins to crumble as you use it. It deteriorates fairly quickly, but I don't mind the trade off, since it cleans just about anything. Since the price is reasonable, I just buy more than I think I will need for each task, and I always keep extra on hand.

I also just learned that Mr. Clean has a new heavy-duty version of this product, called Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Extra Power. The new version is said to be 50% stronger and even tougher on those difficult cleaning jobs. I can't wait to try it, and I just signed up for a coupon for $1.00 off. If you'd like a coupon, visit the Mr. Clean site for more information.

Next, I plan to try the Mr. Clean Magic Reach for my bathroom, so check back soon, and I'll let you know what I think of it.

OK, I did a crazy thing and gave this bad boy a try on my carpet. I had tea stains and a pet stain that were making me crazy. I've tried every chemical on them except bleach and all to no avail.

The Magic Eraser worked like a charm!!!

There was no discoloration of my carpet except for the removal of the pesky stains. This this is AWESOME!

I love this product for many and varied purposes, but I never thought of trying it on carpet. That is great to know. Thanks for letting us in on that little secret, Lisa!
