Up with the Tree!by Sherry Holetzky | More from this Blogger 24 Nov 2006 08:39 AM Okay, so I ranted a little about early Christmas decorations. I still stand by my assertion that Halloween is a little early to start having Christmas displays. I don't think Christmas should have to compete with Halloween or Thanksgiving, but I do understand wanting to make the season last as long as possible. So, now that Thanksgiving is over, I'm ready! Bring on the lights, bring on the Christmas carols, and let's get in the spirit. I love the beautiful music and the joyful celebrations that commemorate the Reason for the season. I love the beautiful lights, fresh fallen snow (when we get snow) and the sights and sounds of people happily shopping and sharing and caring. There simply isn't anything better than observing the happiness of my family and others around us. Now it's time to get started. Well, tomorrow maybe. My husband knows how I feel about starting too early, but he's ready to go before the Thanksgiving leftovers are gone. I'm excited too, but I asked for at least one day off before we start on a another holiday. Today is it. Tomorrow, however, is another story. I'm looking forward to putting up the tree and decorating it as a family with Christmas music playing softly in the background.
Now the kids are discussing the placement of the tree, the special ornaments we have, and who will do what when the time comes. It's almost time to get started, and now I'm ready! When do you plan to put up your Christmas tree?
