What a Perfect Christmas!

I feel guilty writing on Christmas, but I just had to jot down my thoughts while my children are playing with their new things. It's been a perfect Christmas so far and we still have several hours left. I'm feeling so blessed and content that I just had to share.

We started yesterday, having our holiday dinner on Christmas Eve, which is becoming a tradition. We let the kids open one small gift after dessert - apple pie alamode. My husband and I greeted Christmas as it turned midnight, with a sip of bubbly. We slept soundly, and awoke this morning to simultaneous cries of, "It's snowing!" and, "Look, Santa was here!"

It snowed just enough to make everything look beautiful but not enough to create any problems or hazards. I could not have asked for a nicer version of a white Christmas.

Everyone was pleased with their gifts and I relished the squeals of delight and the big smiles, which we of course captured on both video and in snapshots. We all checked out each other's gifts, played together, cozy and contented.

My oldest daughter helped me prepare brunch consisting of leftover ham fried crisp, scrambled eggs with cheese sauce, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, chocolate chip muffins, and orange juice. We all need to go jogging after all the delicious food we've enjoyed for the past two days!

It's been such a great holiday, and even though it was just us, we talked to our loved ones on the phone, and took some time to catch up with everybody. I hope they are having as nice a time as we are, and I hope each and every one of you are as well!

I'm warmly wishing each of you a beautiful Christmas and a New Year filled with hope and promise. I hope everyone has had a lovely day and has many more to come!
