You Tube Towel Origami

Here is a great little activity that will add something special to your home. Towel Origami uses household towels and turns them into different animals and shapes.

With towel origami, you can make your home feel like a vacation home or cruise ship, even if the economy prevents you from going away this year. At many vacation spots, staff often leave origami towels for guests to find. Towel origami animals will also delight children, and make even those reluctant to take a bath interested in the tub, or at least the towel! You can also impress your guests or visitors to your home with towel origami.

Another nice thing about towel origami is that it is a craft that you can do without buying any materials. Chances are good that you already have towels in your home, and you can reuse them over and over again.

Towel origami isn't that hard to do, especially when you have the instructions right there on video and can follow along. Here are some You Tube videos that will show you how to create some of the most popular shapes. You'll have so much fun, there will probably soon be a parade of creatures in your home (but maybe not a hand towel available).

Eddie the Elephant

In the video, the instructor teaches you how to make an elephant using two towels. While she uses wiggle eyes, I would probably put an extra pair of sunglasses on the elephant for a cute touch.

Towel Shirt

Welcome dad on Fathers's Day or welcome a mail guest with towels that resemble button down shirts. This might also be a nice gift idea for giving towels as a wedding present or housewarming present.
